third, fourth and sixth.

it's been quite a full week with o's birthday, the fourth of july and then o's birthday party yesterday. i will document all of it, but thought it might be easiest to start with the national holiday...

our super cool friends from san francisco, karl and wendi came down with their three little fellas for a little suburban fourth fun...

wendi brought the water balloons, so she had to fill them for the kids. :) oliver was in control of the water hose, which is fine if everyone doesn't mind getting a little wet!

as you can see, it was fun to have them here!

later in the evening, we were trying to decide whether we had energy for fireworks or not. we decided to call our friends, oak and sarah and they came over with their kids to set off some good 'ole back yard firecrackers. we did this with them last year too, so we felt cool to have a fourth of july tradition already! :)
for most of the fireworks, the kids just ran and ran in circles around it, but finally, we told them to sit down and watch. this is what they did...
