mother's day special:

i photograph mothers all the time.

often, they are nervous about the photoshoot.

mothers worry about how they will look in photos.

as women who pour themselves into the little ones they love,

they wonder if any of their own beauty will show in photos.

but i see it.

it's my job as a photographer to capture it

and show it to you.

moms have a special place in my heart on photoshoots.

i know how hard they've worked to pull things together

and how desperately they want to see the beautiful things about their lives

in a tangible way forever.

ps. these photos were recently taken of a special mom and her two daughters...

when i think of pictures i wish i had of my mom,

these would be it.

i love seeing the way she smiles at her daughter (3),

the way the girls are having a quiet moment together (2), 

and the warmth and security a mother gives to her children (1).

*sigh* so beautiful.
