street music.

i believe that one day the streets will be filled with music.

so when i see street musicians

working hard

to make something beautiful

in the middle of

our lives

traffic

noise

pain

shuffling

i try my best to stop and listen. (and thank them with some money.)

 the music they play can be such a contrast to the places we walk.

soft melodies, familiar tunes, heartfelt lyrics,

songs that make us feel a little more connected,

upbeat tempos that lighten our steps...

bringing some beauty to us on our journey.

i love street musicians

for what they add to our cities.

for the way they fight and struggle to make the world hear their songs.

and for reminding me of what may come.

may our ears be open to hear.
