Many Californians are committed to warm weather attire throughout the year. But for those of us who have relocated here, today might qualify as the first "flip-flop day" of spring. Today I don't care if the inside of my house is clean or a mess (can you guess which one it is?). We are outside having a picnic on a blanket, taking turns in the new tree swing and reveling in the perfect 68* day today. I have rummaged through our closets and found five sets of flip-flops which have hopefully found a summertime home on our feet!
(If I had a digital camera, I'd take a picture!)

by the way... it's not spring here yet. that day was a blessing, but definitely not consistent yet. i'm looking forward to the six months coming of no rain and perfect degree days...
